Scope
We built this factory for Medco in 6th of October City, Cairo, on a full EPC basis in 2016. We started with heavy concrete foundations and put a steel superstructure on top. The steel columns run a full 16 metres, which gives the plant its shape and its height.
Tall columns and long spans mean the interior is open, with few columns getting in the way of the plastics lines. Because we ran the whole job under one EPC scope, we handled the engineering, the buying and the construction ourselves. Fabrication and erection stayed in step, and quality control sat with one team from the first drawing to handover.
